Rustic Charm

I went to town for a few things this morning and on my way back, the yellow tamarack in this scene  caught my eye.  Thankfully I had my Rebel with  me, so I got a few shots of  it right out the window of the Jeep.  I also took some hand-held HDR shots, but when I processed them, I found I liked the originals better.  I did tweak the colors a bit, though.

October Barn

I went out last Sunday after church and took some HDR shots of one of my favorite barns.  The barn belongs to the Tomasczewski family and I go out there every now and then to photograph it.  I’ve taken fall shots of it before, but never in HDR, so that’s what I did on Sunday.

HDR Saturday

Last Saturday I went to a few spots and took some HDR shots.  I really like the way they turned out, and I decided to post the originals along with the HDR’s for comparison.

I left for work early yesterday so I would have time to stop and take pics instead of shooting while driving.  This what I came up with.

Blacksmith Shop

This is the old blacksmith shop in Armstrong Creek, WI.  in all 4 seasons.  I wanted to give some history on this building, but I can’t find any.  If I ever do though, I’ll post it.

4 Seasons Barn

This barn belongs to a friend of mine who lives just a few miles away.  This is another of the old builidings in the area that fascinate me and I thought it would be an excellent subject to photograph in all 4 seasons.

Barn Doors

img_0446_133_133-2

I have always been fascinated by old buildings.  It doesn’t matter if it’s barns or houses, as long as they’re old.  I was looking through my pics today and decided that old doors would make for an interesting post.   Not all the pics are of barn doors, in fact a few are of barn walls.

4 Seasons, Shorty Shack

This is a little shack that sits just at the edge of the woods south of Armstrong Creek, WI.  I don’t know the history of it other than a man nicknamed “Shorty” lived there many years ago.  This shack is very small, about 12 feet wide and only about 8 feet deep, yet it’s charm is endless.  If I ever manage to get any history on this little piece of the past, I’ll be sure to post it.

Vintage Tuesday/Four Seasons

This is an old barn located on Old Smith School Lane in Armstrong Creek, WI.  The house caved in years ago, but the barn still stands strong.
