January 13

It has snowed right through the night and most

of the morning so we now have an additional 4

inches or so of snow. I spent some time today

driving around and also walking in the woods,

looking for things to take pictures of.

I especially like this coil of barbed wire on the

old fencepost.

This old abandoned house is all that remains

of a farm that was once owned by a local family.

I’ve photographed it in every season and every

time I see it, I can’t help but wonder about the

people who had lived here through the years.

This is the old blacksmith shop in Armstrong Creek, WI

I like the way the snow is piled up on these Blue Cohosh berries.

I grew up on a small farm in Oklahoma. That first shot takes me back there. Up here in Maine, I rarely see a fence, and hardly ever barbed wire (bob wire in Ok!)
