-18 Sunrise

When I got out of work this morning it was 18 below zero, with a wind chill of about 35 below.   Not near as cold as it is in Minnesota, but cold enough.  I let the truck warm up for awhile, then drove into the park by Lake Antoine for these pics.  The high for the day was zero.  Needless to say, I didn’t go snowshoeing.  If there hadn’t been any wind, I would have gone, but not when the wind chill is -20.  It’s supposed to be about 15-20 below again tonight and a high of about 5 tomorrow, then a warm-up over the weekend.  They’re predicting a high of 14 on Sat. and 20 on Sunday.   I sure hope so, cuz I can’t wait to hit the trails again.

4 Corners Sunset, 10-29-08

This was the sunset from last night.  I walked out on the road in front of our house and took shots in all 4 directions.

Sky Watch Friday

I shot these 4 pics last night on my walk.  There’s something I really like about a cloudy, moody looking sky like this, and this is what the sky looked like in all 4 directions.

Sky Watch Friday

I took this shot on my way home from Iron Mountain, MI this afternoon.  This is one of my favorite barns and I thought the clouds above it and the wildflowers in the field made a very nice, peaceful scene.  For more great Sky Watch Friday photos, go to http://skyley.blogspot.com

Sky Watch Friday

I took the first 2 shots about 1/2 hour before sunrise this morning and the third one just as the sun was peeking over the trees.
