I had to take a different route to work the other day and I got a few nice pics along the way. This is Highway 101 between Fence and Florence.

I had time this weekend to play around with my Corel software and I tried a bunch of different stuff on one of my pics. I just happen to really like this monarch picture, that’s why I chose it. This is the first butterfly that I raised from a caterpillar in my house. As soon as it emerged from it’s chrysalis, I brought it outside and got some pictures. When it’s wings were dry enough to fly, it was free to go.

Just a few shots of the sky at sunset during my break at work.

We finally got to see the sun again this week, but only briefly. It started out sunny on Wednesday and I took these shots on my way in to work, but as you can see from the pics, by the time I got to Iron Mountain, it was quite cloudy again. Actually, it has been ever since. We had rain on Thursday and part of Friday and we had snow a little while ago this morning.

I shot these pics on my way to work the other day. The tamaracks here are just gorgeous. I love the way they look against the evergreens.

I took this shot yesterday on my break. The sunset got mucher prettier after this, but I was unable to get another shot as I was back on the job by then. I could see it through the windows though.

Yesterday I had to go back to town in the late afternoon and on my way I saw this sundog. Of course I had my Rebel along, so I pulled over and took a shot, but I found that the sundog barely showed up at all so I took some HDR shots instead. After processing them I found that the sundog stood out much more.

I went for a walk in the woods on Sunday afternoon. I haven’t been doing this lately because of the bear and deer hunters, but no one was around on Sunday, so I decided to chance it. I wasn’t worried about running into any hunters, I was more concerned with running into a bear. Of course I didn’t and I got a few nice shots. As I was walking I realized that I’ve never taken fall pics of that old ladder, only winter and summer pics. Now all I need is spring pics and I can post it in all 4 seasons.

I can’t seem to walk past this old tractor without taking a picture of it, so here it is…again.

Old manure spreader.

Future snowshoe trail.
