We got another 4 inches of snow today which made everything
look so beautiful. I love it when the trees are all snow covered
like this. The snowshoeing got a little more difficult because of
the deeper snow, but that’s a good thing. We need all the snow
we can get because our rivers and lakes are very low. We had
a dry year last year and very little snow last winter. Besides,
I’d much rather have a lot of snow than the bitter cold that we
had a few weeks ago, and I believe most of Wisconsin and
Upper Michigan would agree with me on that one!
It was a beautiful, sunny day today, perfect for a walk in the woods
on the snowshoes with my dog and my camera.
Actually, this road is not forgotten at all, it is in the
woods behind our house and I walk there quite
often. For some reason I feel very drawn to this
little road and I’ve photographed it in every season
and in every kind of light. In fact, every time I
walk this way I stop to take a picture.
We got about 2 inches of snow last night. Not nearly
enough to snowshoe on, but enough to provide some
good photo ops. I think it looks so beautiful when the
snow is covering everything like this.
It was very quiet and still in the woods, with only the
sound of chickadees and the soft singing of the river.
